Cookie Policy

Effective date: July 1, 2026  ·  Last updated: July 1, 2026

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information about your visit — such as whether you are logged in — across page loads and sessions. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixel tags.

2. How We Use Cookies

Summr Institute uses cookies for the following purposes:

  • Strictly Necessary — These cookies are essential for the Platform to function. Without them, features such as authentication, session management, and secure form submission would not work. They cannot be disabled. Examples include the Supabase authentication token stored as an HTTP-only cookie, and the CSRF protection cookie.
  • Functional — These cookies remember your preferences, such as your last-viewed lesson, sidebar collapse state, and display settings. Disabling them may reduce the quality of your experience but will not prevent access to the Platform.
  • Analytics — We use anonymised analytics data (via Vercel Analytics) to understand how the Platform is used: which pages are visited most often, where students drop off in courses, and how performance improvements affect engagement. Analytics cookies do not identify you personally. You may opt out via the preference centre below.
  • Marketing (currently not in use) — We do not currently operate advertising campaigns. If we introduce marketing cookies in the future, we will update this Policy and seek your consent in advance.

4. Third-Party Cookies

Embedded content from Vercel Blob (for video and media delivery) may set functional cookies associated with content delivery. These are governed by Vercel's privacy practices. We do not embed third-party social media widgets or advertising networks that would set tracking cookies.

5. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

You can control cookies in the following ways:

  • Browser settings — Most browsers allow you to view, delete, and block cookies. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in to the Platform.
  • Opt-out of analytics — You may opt out of Vercel Analytics by enabling “Do Not Track” in your browser settings. Vercel Analytics respects the DNT signal.
  • Delete all cookies — Clearing your browser cookies will log you out of the Platform and reset all functional preferences.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when we introduce new technologies or change our use of existing ones. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect changes. Continued use of the Platform after updates constitutes acceptance.
